Summer Swimming Pool Maintenance Tips
Maintaining your pool during the summer months doesn’t have to be a daunting task. We’re continuing our series of articles on summer pool maintenance tips designed to ensure your pool stays clean, clear, and ready for swimming all season long. As we’ve discussed in our last article, it’s extremely important to balance total alkalinity and maintain pool pH control and pool water balance. Remember, a well-balanced and maintained pool is a happy pool – and a happy place for you and/or your guests to relax and cool off on hot summer days. Let’s take a look at some recommended weekly pool maintenance tasks:
Weekly Swimming Pool Maintenance Tasks
- Once a week, it’s time to give your pool a more thorough cleaning. Start by vacuuming the pool to remove any dirt or debris that has settled on the bottom. A clean pool not only looks better but also promotes better water circulation and filtration.
- Take a few minutes to clean out the pool filter and skimmer baskets. A clogged filter can reduce water flow and diminish the effectiveness of your pool’s filtration system. Regular cleaning will help maintain optimal performance.
- Don’t forget to scrub the waterline to remove any built up grime or algae. This area can quickly become dirty and unsightly, but a quick scrub will keep your pool looking fresh and inviting.
Our next article will cover some monthly maintenance tasks to help keep your pool sparkling and appealing throughout the summer.
