More Signs Pointing to an Unhealthy Pool
We are continuing our series of articles discussing sure signs of an unhealthy pool. Our previous article covered the fact that cloudy water is an indication of poor pH control and how a strong chlorine smell can indicate that the pool water balance may be off. Today, we will look at two more signs that the pool you are about to swim in is unhealthy.
Green Water
Green water is often a sign of algae. Algae grows both in the water and on surface areas of the pool (i.e., bottom, sides, steps). The most common cause for algae growth is the pool water balance being off.
Chemistry is Off
Alkalinity problems/pool chemistry issues are sure indicators of an unhealthy pool. If you check your pool water balance and it is way off, then you should keep people from swimming in it until it is resolved.
Our next article will discuss more aspects of an unhealthy pool.
